Introduction to
Life Cycle Assessment
Welcome!
We are five engineering students from Purdue University. We found Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to be extremely impactful in terms of helping us make more sustainable choices so we decided to make this website to share our knowledge and help you learn more about LCA.
About the Website
This user-friendly website is designed to help you understand the cool basic concepts of LCA. After learning the content you will conduct an LCA on an electric toothbrush and after that you will be able to do an LCA on any product that interests you!
Once you are done reading this home page click the "Introduction to LCA" page tab. you should read this page to learn about what an LCA is generally. This should only take you an hour at most. Once you are done reading the introduction page you should click the "How to do an LCA" page.

The "How to do an LCA" page is the bulk of the content for this website. You should follow the instructions at the top of this page to navigate through each step of doing an LCA. It is recommended that you plan to do each step in one sitting and no more than one step in a sitting. Expect to spend upwards of 2 hours on each step as each step has an activity to be completed at the end of the content. Once you have read all of the content and completed all of the activities on the "How to do an LCA" page you should click the "Do an LCA" page.

The "Do an LCA" page gives you the prompt for and walks you through doing a complete LCA for an electric toothbrush. This page is meant to be a final project. Once you have completed it you are ready to do your own LCA on any product you like!

We would appreciate it if you would use the "Feedback" page to leave us any comments about the website. We, and future students in our LCA class, will be constantly trying to improve it. If you have any questions while going through the website please use the "Contact" page to get in touch with us via email.
